Supreme Court Building

We can’t hold up the Supreme Court

The Supreme Court plays a critical role in making decisions on issues that affect all of the American people, and in the past year, we have seen what an impact Supreme Court decisions have on the LGBT community. That’s why it is so important to ensure that Supreme Court nominations happen in a timely way and with bi-partisan cooperation.

We can’t hold up the Supreme Court and we need a timely hearing and vote on the nominee put forward to replace Justice Scalia. Senator Casey has said that the Senate has an obligation to do their jobs and confirm a nominee, while Sen. Toomey is asking for a delay for nearly a year.

Can you sign the petition to Senator Toomey asking him to commit to a timely and cooperative nomination process?

President Obama has said that he can put forward a nominee within 30 days. The Senate has a constitutionally mandated responsibility to uphold the confirmation process. Equality PA is calling on Senator Pat Toomey to make sure that President Obama’s nominee receives a fair hearing and timely vote.

Take a minute to sign this petition and let Sen. Toomey know how important it is to you to make sure that the Supreme Court will continue to move forward.
