Equality PA Thanks Attorney General Kathleen Kane for Standing up for the LGBT Community

While Rep. Darryl Metcalfe Holds An Impeachment Hearing, Equality PA Members Send Thank You Notes To Kathleen Kane

Harrisburg – Equality PA, Executive Director, Ted Martin thanked Attorney General Kathleen Kane for standing up for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community.

Ted Martin said, “Attorney General Kathleen Kane did the right thing when she decided not to defend the commonwealth’s indefensible ban on same-sex marriage. Now, Rep. Daryl Metcalfe wants to impeach her for that action. This impeachment hearing today is a waste of taxpayer dollars. And the state’s defense of the ban on same-sex marriage is too. So today while Rep. Metcalfe tries to impeach Attorney General Kathleen Kane, we are taking time to thank her for standing up for us.”

Rep. Metcalfe will hold a hearing today on his resolution to impeach Kathleen Kane for her so-called “misbehavior” in office.

With 60,000 members across the commonwealth, Equality Pennsylvania is the leading organization advancing equality and opportunity for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender Pennsylvanians.
