Equality PA celebrates defeat of Obamacare repeal

HARRISBURG – “Today, Equality Pennsylvania is celebrating the defeat of measures to repeal the Affordable Care Act (aka “Obamacare” in the United States Senate last night,” said Equality PA spokesperson John Dawe of Kingston. “Our own Senator, Bob Casey, Jr. (D-Pennsylvania), was joined by his Republican colleagues, Senator Susan Collins (R-Maine), Senator John McCain (R-Arizona), and Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), to vote against these efforts to strip crucial health care coverage for thousands of LGBTQ Pennsylvanians (and hundreds of thousands of LGBTQ Americans.)

“Credit is due where credit is deserved,” added Dawe.

If repeal had gone through, hundreds of thousands (or more) of LGBTQ Americans would no longer be eligible for essential medical benefit coverage and access to care.

Equality Pennsylvania encourages its supporters to send a Thank You Message to Senators Casey, Collins, McCain, and Murkowski Today, at https://act.myngp.com/Forms/-7126437343174391040.
