Who stole equality?

It’s been a year of ups and downs for LGBT equality in 2015, and now that the year is coming to a close, we wanted to send a message to the Pennsylvania state legislature. Since it’s the holiday season, we thought this might get their attention. Please enjoy our holiday poem.

Happy holidays!

A holiday poem from Equality PA

At the end of State Street, in the Capitol of town
There work a lot of state legislators who make people frown
Why you may ask, for what reason?
After all, it is, of course the Holiday season?

It was not always like this you see,
There was a group working for acceptance and equality
But some people are mean, some people are not nice
Some refuse to let get along no matter the price

Equality Pennsylvania worked and worked until they got tired
Telling people about nondiscrimination with all the people that they hired
Around the state they ran, making sure that nobody gay or transgender could be fired

But the mean people saw this, the mean people did
And came up with a plan to steal the joy and keep it hid
Equality is fine they think- as long as it is theirs
Apparently their mothers never taught them to share

The fight isn’t over, there is much more to do
For Equality Pennsylvania, working hard is nothing new

Please continue to contribute to our ever important work as we continue into 2016-
If little Cindy-Lou Who could change the Grich’s mind- so can you!

Thank you for all you have done in 2015 to build our organization and allow us to be ready for the work that lies ahead. There is still much to do, please support our efforts toward fair and equitable treatment for all workers and families by contributing today!
