Thirty-one Equality PA Endorsed Candidates win in Primary Elections

In an historic week for LGBT rights in Pennsylvania, a super majority of Equality PA endorsed candidates won their elections.  These candidates will move on to the general election in November.

“This years primary was a huge success for the movement for equality in PA. Not only did we win the historic marriage case, but 31 of our endorsed candidates were also victorious. We know that these candidates will help us end discrimination once and for all in Pennsylvania by working to pass the non-discrimination bill in the legislature,” said Adanjesus Marin, President of the Equality PA Education Fund Board.

“This has been an exciting time for both our organization and LGBT equality. Progress has to continue to be made through legislation and this wouldn’t be possible without LGBT supportive legislators. We have seen a great increase in the amount of pro-LGBT candidates running for office and we are happy to endorse those candidates who can be champions and allies for our community. This has been our most successful primary endorsement yet and we look forward to working with these candidates, who we believe will be strong advocates for the LGBT community in the legislatiure,” added Jessica Rothchild, President of the Equality PA Board.
