Pack the hearing room
It’s time to stand up for LGBT rights.
Next Tuesday August 30th at 1:00PM in Hearing Room 1 in the North Office Building, the Labor and Industry Committee is holding a hearing on LGBT non-discrimination legislation—and we’re calling on all fair-minded Pennsylvanians to come out and pack the hearing room.
This is our big chance to send a message to lawmakers that a strong majority of their constituents support protections for hardworking LGBT people across our state.
Right now, because Pennsylvania’s state non-discrimination laws do not protect on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity, someone can be fired just because of who they are or who they love.
This goes against everything Pennsylvania stands for. Here in the Keystone State, everyone deserves to be able to work hard and to be judged based on their merit and performance. Fair and square.
That’s why at the committee hearing on LGBT non-discrimination next Tuesday August 30th we’ve got to fill every seat in the room and make sure our state lawmakers see just how important the issue of LGBT workplace protections is—both to hardworking gay and transgender employees, and to upholding values all Pennsylvanians hold dear.
Can we count on you? Click here to RSVP to the hearing on SB 1306 on next Tuesday—and be one of the dozens at the forefront of the fight for LGBT non-discrimination protections.
We’ll see you there.
