On the verge of a breakthrough

For years at Equality Pennsylvania, when people call us to tell us about their discrimination stories at work, in housing, or in public accommodation, we have had to tell people that the Human Relations Commission did not hear such complaints. This week, the PA Human Relations Commission is considering changing that stance. This is a huge breakthrough.

The Human Relations Commission is accepting comments from the public this week. Can you take a minute to email them today? Click here to send your message.

These proposed policies are critical to helping ensure that LGBTQ Pennsylvanians are able to fully live their lives free of discrimination. Equality Pennsylvania strongly supports these drafts and urges the Commission to finalize these policies. We have submitted a letter to the commission showing our support, and recommending changes to make the policies even better. Read our letter here.

These policies do not take the place of comprehensive legislation in the state—but it is a very important step forward.

Your input can really make a difference to ensure these policies are enacted. The deadline for the public comment period is Friday, so send your email today.

Send your message to support policies that make it possible for LGBTQ people to report discrimination today here!

We have heard reports that the opposition is sending thousands of messages to the PA Human Relations Commission to block these important guidelines. We must be heard to make this important step forward. It only takes a few minutes to send your message—send it here now!
