“LGBT rights will be the first on the chopping block”

The National Organization for Marriage, the group that spent millions working to try and stop marriage equality, just put out their press release, and it’s clear that “LGBT rights will be the first on the chopping block.” According to their statement, these are their top priorities for working with President Trump:[1]

1. To overturn the Supreme Court decision that granted all same-sex couples the freedom to marry.
2. Undo all of President Obama’s executive orders that protect transgender people.
3. Passing “Indiana-style” national legislation that empowers people to openly discriminate against LGBT people in the workplace, housing, and public accommodation known as the “First Amendment Defense Act.”

Now, it will be a difficult, if not impossible task to overturn the Supreme Court decision on marriage, but the other two priorities are real possibilities that we must do everything we can to fight. And we can’t win that fight without you.

The question is, what are you willing to do to help us stop the rollback of all of the progress we have made in the past few years?

Here is a quick survey to identify ways that you can engage in the next few months. Click here to tell us what you can do.

We want to gear up for action as quickly as possible.

Fill out this survey today and help us keep LGBT rights off the “chopping block.”
