Cat saying, "Really?"

Bathrooms? Really?

Really? Legislators in Harrisburg are getting bombarded with emails about bathrooms. They are being told that a law that provides protection from discrimination for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people in employment, housing and business and government services is about . . .(wait for it) . . . bathrooms.

All of us, including LGBT people, are concerned about safety in restrooms. Which is why it’s important to remember that the PA Fairness Act does nothing to change that fact that it is completely illegal to enter a restroom to harm or harass people—period.

Are you going to let these attacks go unanswered?

Email your legislators now.

Let our leaders in Harrisburg know that these attacks are not factual. They are a fear-based falsehoods that unfairly target the transgender community.

Unfortunately, there are still people out there who want to be able to fire people, deny them housing, or refuse to serve them in stores or restaurants, simply because they’re lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender. And they’re counting on these attacks to keep the PA Fairness Act from becoming law.

Everyone deserves a fair opportunity to earn a living, be safe, meet their responsibilities, and build a better life.

Updating our laws to protect everyone from discrimination would not make restrooms unsafe. The PA Fairness Act would help ensure that all Pennsylvanians are treated fairly and equally—and that transgender people aren’t mistreated when they need to do something as basic as using the restroom.

Don’t let these attacks go on any further.

Email your legislators now.
